    Eric H. Callaway

    MANAGING PARTNER

    CHAIRMAN

    Eric is a native of the Delmarva Peninsula and began his railroad career at The Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company (MDDE) in 1978, where he started in the Maintenance of Way department. He advanced through the positions of General Manager and Vice President before the Board of Directors elected him as President in 2003. He served in that role until his retirement from day-to-day involvement with the company in 2017.

    Today, he is responsible for leading the C&D management team, and remains a senior advisor for short-line railroad concerns and issues.

    Kean Burenga

    MANAGING PARTNER

    PRESIDENT

    Kean began his railroad career in 1980 as a ticket agent for the Black River & Western Railroad (BRW), and after completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Finance at the University of Delaware in 1988, he joined the railroad’s management team as Vice President & General Manager. He succeeds his grandfather Nicholas Burenga, as the President of the Black River Railroad System.

    Today, Kean leads the day-to-day C&D management team, sharing his areas of expertise including safety, train operation, real estate leases and occupations, track and way maintenance and rehabilitation, and managing cash flow. In addition to railroad management, Kean is on the Board of Directors of Hunterdon Area Rural Transportation (HART) and is on the steering committee for the Hunterdon County Economic Development program.

    Cathrin Banks

    MANAGING PARTNER

    EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL COUNSEL

    Cathrin’s railroad career began in 2015 when she joined The Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company (MDDE) as Vice President and General Counsel. She was elevated to President and General Counsel of MDDE in 2019, and continues to serve in that capacity today. As one of C&D’s Managing Partners, Cathrin works closely with Kean on the day-to-day management of the company’s railroads. She oversees the company’s business development efforts, government and corporate relations, and legal matters.

    Cathrin obtained her B.A. and J.D. from the University of Maryland. She is admitted to the Maryland Bar (2010) and the District of Columbia Bar (2012). She is a member of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) Board of Directors, the B&O Railroad Museum Board of Directors, and the League of Railway Women.

    Ken Burenga

    MANAGING PARTNER

    VICE PRESIDENT, TREASURER & SECRETARY

    Ken began his 32-year career at Dow Jones after completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Rider University, where he held a number of managerial positions in finance, data processing, long-range planning, and circulation marketing before being named circulation director of Dow Jones and Vice President/circulation of The Wall Street Journal. In 1991, he was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Dow Jones and concurrently served as CEO of Dow Jones Telerate, later Dow Jones Markets, from 1996-1998.

    Ken retired from Dow Jones & Company in 1998, and now resides on his ranch in Gillespie County, Texas, where he oversees the financial and interline railroad settlement activities of the company, and also manages billing on rentals and right of way occupations.

    Sean Dolan

    VICE PRESIDENT &
    GENERAL MANAGER

    Sean began his railroad career in 1991 as a Ticket Agent with NJ Transit, one of the largest statewide public transit systems in the United States. He advanced through numerous transportation positions including Deputy General Manager and ending his time there as Chief of Staff for the Transportation Department.

    Prior to joining NJ TRANSIT, he was fortunate to have served in the US Navy for 4 years from 1987 to 1991 exiting with an honorable discharge.

    Today, as the Vice President & General Manager, Sean will handle the day-to-day operations of C&D, sharing his expertise in safety and train operations.
