Rockaway, NJ - The Dover and Rockaway River Railroad (DRRV) partnered with Norfolk Southern Corp., New Jersey Transit, the United Railway Historical Society and Operation Toy Train on Saturday December 9, 2017, to operate a Toys for Tots collection train over portions of the DRRV system.

Making stops throughout Rockaway Township, Dover Township, Roxbury Township and Mount Olive Township, the train collected donations and toys from all across Morris County.

Since 2009, Operation Toy Train has operated toy collection trains in northern New Jersey and southern New York during the first two weekends of December. The trains collect over 20,000 donated toys annually for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation, which redistributes them to underprivileged children in the northern New Jersey area.

The Dover and Rockaway River Railroad is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chesapeake and Delaware, LLC (CAD). Based in New Jersey, CAD was formed in 2016 for the purpose of owning, leasing, marketing, operating, and managing short line railroads and related businesses. Via Norfolk Southern, CAD has connections to every other Class I railroads in the United States, and over 250 shortline partner railroads.
