Black River Western Completes Ringoes Curve Track Improvements

Ringoes, NJ - In the Fall of 2022, the Black River & Western took on a major track rebuild project which took place between Toad Lane and Ringoes. With the assistance from Railroad Construction of South Jersey, approximately 2000 feet of railroad was rebuilt with the installation of steel ties and plastic composite ties within the Toad Lane crossing circuit. The 90lb rail laid down by the Pennsylvania Railroad was replaced with heavier 132lb rail, and new ballast was poured followed by tamping and lining.

The rebuilt section of railroad will allow for freight and passenger trains to traverse along at the leisurely speed of 20mph, but more importantly ensure that railcars can be delivered to its customers and continue to provide economic sustainability to the local communities. This project is just one of many that the railroad has completed over the past several years, investing heavily in its track infrastructure to ensure the safe and efficient movement of railcars between Three Bridges and Ringoes, NJ.
